European Boxing Championships: Armenia’s Bachkov guarantees bronze medal

Hovhannes Bachkov has guaranteed a bronze medal for Team Armenia at the European Boxing Championships being held in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

The Armenian athlete on Wednesday defeated his Hungarian opponent in the quarterfinals of the 64kg competition and advanced to the semifinals.

In addition, Karen Tonakanyan (Armenia) on Wednesday will fight Russia’s representative in the quarterfinals of the 60kg competition.

Advancing to quarterfinals at the European Boxing Championships guarantees qualification for the World Boxing Championships.
