July 20 marks International Chess Day

International Chess Day is celebrated on July 20, the day when World Chess Federation (FIDE) was founded.

The day has been celebrated since 1966 by the decision of FIDE.

FIDE is one of the major sports organizations its members are 173 national federations.

On this day festive events, tournament and quizzes are held.
