Key player of US basketball team out of Olympic Games

US Olympic team has lost one of its key players. Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin is out of the Olympic Games because of an injury.

Medical examination revealed he had a meniscus tear in his left knee. The player will have to undergo a surgery, USA Today reports.

Griffin was injured during the national’s training as he collided with John Wall of the Washington.

Griffin will be replaced by New Orleans forward Anthony Davis.

The US is the most successful team in international competition and has won thirteen Olympic gold medals.
