World Cup Trophy is in Maradona’s hands, after 31 years
10:55 24 January, 2017Argentine football legend Diego Maradona again had the chance to hold the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) World Cup Trophy, after 31 years.
Maradona and the Argentine national squad had become world champions in 1986.
Maradona “reunited” with the World Cup Trophy during the Best FIFA Football Awards 2016 that were held recently in Zurich, Switzerland, according to the FIFA website.
“How wonderful it is,” said Maradona. “I would like to wish Argentine players that one day they hold this trophy with their own hands.”
