Rider Fabian Cancellara decided to quit the 2012 Tour de France ahead of the eleventh stage.

He left his RadioShack-Nissan team which held the yellow jersey for seven days in order to support his wife in the final days of her pregnancy, reports.

At the moment the leader of the race is Bradley Wiggins from Team Sky.

“That ‘trophy’ is more important than another Tour stage win or an Olympic medal,” said Cancellara.
