One of Tour de France leaders quits

17:12   12 July, 2012

Rider Fabian Cancellara decided to quit the 2012 Tour de France ahead of the eleventh stage.

He left his RadioShack-Nissan team which held the yellow jersey for seven days in order to support his wife in the final days of her pregnancy, Cyclingnews.com reports.

At the moment the leader of the race is Bradley Wiggins from Team Sky.

“That ‘trophy’ is more important than another Tour stage win or an Olympic medal,” said Cancellara.
