Sharapova and Djokovic receive ESPY award
11:58 12 July, 2012Russia’s Maria Sharapova and Serbia’s Novak Djokovic were awarded “Best female tennis player” and “Best tennis player” of the year by ESPN channel.
ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) award ceremony was held on July 11 in Los Angeles, chiff.com reports.
Lionel Messi was announced “Best International Athelete”, while LeBron James was called “Best Male Athlete”.
Nominees were officially announced on June 27. Sharapova was also included in the list of nominees for the Best Comeback for her triumphant win at this year’s French Open.
