Armenia’s Aronian to compete in FIDE Grand-Prix 2017

The World Chess Federation (FIDE) has issued the list of the 15 participants to compete in the FIDE Grand-Prix 2017 series.

Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian, who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions Armenia, is also on this list.

In total 24 players will participate in the four Grand-Prix 2017 events; 15 qualifiers as per regulations plus 9 nominees from AGON Ltd (to be announced). Each player will play in three tournaments.

And the first two winners will qualify to the Candidates Tournament of the World Chess Championship 2018.
