English Premier League: Mkhitaryan gets highest rating in Man U clash against Tottenham

The Daily Mail newspaper of Great Britain has rated the Manchester United (a.k.a. Red Devils) players, after their English Premier League clash Sunday against London’s Tottenham Hotspur.

Accordingly, Red Devils’ midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan was given the highest rating of 8.

In this match that was played in Manchester, the Red Devils defeated the guests owing to the game’s only goal scored by the captain of the Armenia national football squad; this was his first goal in the Premier League and at Old Trafford, the Man United home stadium.

“Continuing to blossom,” the newspaper commented about the performance of Mkhitaryan. “A well-taken goal, particularly the first touch to race ahead of his man, and looked a likely outlet throughout before Danny Rose's lunge forced him off on a stretcher.”

The Armenian international started for the Red Devils. Toward the dying minutes of the second half, however, he suffered an ankle injury and was stretchered off the pitch.

As a result of an online voting on the Man United official Twitter account, the Armenian international was recognized Man of the Match.
