Armenia’s GM achieves fourth consecutive victory

Armenian GM Gabriel Sargissian beat Stony (India) in Round 4 of the chess open in Rethymno, Greece.

Sargissian tallied 4 points after four rounds and, together with GMs Yuriy Kryvoruchko (Ukraine) and Andrey Rychagov (Russia), he leads the event’s current standings.

Gabriel Sargissian will face Rychagov in Round 5.

Last week Armenian young chess players gained victory at the 7th International Youth Chess Tournament held in Armenia’s Jermuk city.

And the winners were Artur Davtyan (U10), Ashot Parvanyan (U12) and Sipan Muradyan (U18), all representing Armenia, and Iranian chess player Bardia Sheykhhasani (U14), armchess.am informs.
