Armenia’s Martirosyan to get Beijing 2008 Olympics’ silver medal
13:04 24 August, 2016The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) on Wednesday disclosed the names of athletes whose have tested positive for doping during the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, which were held in China’s capital city of Beijing.
Accordingly, Andrei Rybakou (Belarus), who won silver medal in the men’s 85 kg competition in Beijing, is also among the weightlifters that had used performance-enhancing drugs at Beijing 2008.
As a result, Tigran Martirosyan (Armenia), who had become bronze medalist in this weight division at the 2008 Summer Olympics, shall receive the silver medal that was awarded to Rybakou.
