Rio 2016: Medal count after Day 6

There is no change in the top three of the medals standings after the 21 medals that were up for grabs on Thursday, the sixth day of competitions at the 2016 Summer Olympics that are in full swing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The US maintains the respective top spot with a total of 16 gold, 12 silver, and 10 bronze medals.

China is in second place with 11 gold, 8 silver, and 11 bronze medals.

And Japan rounds up the top three with 7 gold, 2 silver, and 13 bronze medals.

A total of 35 countries have won gold medals in the first six days of competitions.

Armenia is represented at Rio 2016 with 33 athletes, but it has not yet won a medal.
