Rio 2016: 4 Armenian athletes start competing on first day

Four athletes representing Armenia will start competing during the first day of Rio Olympics.

Among them are gymnasts Harutyun Merdinyan and Artur Davtyan. Judoka Hovhannes Davtyan (60 kg) will face Austria’s Ludwig Paischer.

Boxer Artur Hovhannisyan (49 kg) will face Spain’s Samuel Harmona Herera.

Armenia will be represented by 33 athletes. They will compete in wrestling, boxing, judo, weightlifting, gymnastics, swimming, athletics and shooting.
