Youth Olympic Games champion Simon Martirosyan (Armenia) was recognized the second best male weightlifter in the 2016 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Junior World Championships, which the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi hosted, reported the official website of this tournament.
Martirosyan became the gold medalist in the +105kg category by lifting a combined weight of 412kg.
The 19-year-old athlete was flawless in all of his six attempts, and he exceeded the second- and third-place weightlifters by 25 points, in the overall results.
This, however, was Team Armenia’s sole medal in Tbilisi.
