Euro 2016: Belgians scored goal after 28 passes

In the second-round match of Euro 2016, the Belgian squad footballers scored the second goal in the Icelanders’ net after 28 passes, Opta Sports writes. 

This is the longest build-up in Euro championships since 1980.

The second goal was scored by Russian Zenit midfielder Axel Witsel, who was also named the man of the match.

Belgium beat Ireland 3-0 thanks to the brace of Everton’s forward Romelu Lukaku and Witsel’s goal.
