Rio 2016 Olympics: 28th member joins Team Armenia
13:40 15 June, 2016YEREVAN. – The athletics team of Armenia has gained one more Olympic qualification.
The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has approved runner Lilit Harutyunyan’s respective qualification.
Harutyunyan had fulfilled the needed norm during the Armenian Athletics Championship in Artashat town.
With the result she registered in the 400m hurdles, the IAAF Technical Commission has allowed her to participate in the 2016 Summer Olympics that will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, informed the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia.
The athletics team of Armenia already had four Olympic qualifications, which runners Diana Khubeseryan and Gayane Chiloyan, triple jumper Levon Aghasyan, and long jumper Amalya Sharoyan had gained.
Team Armenia currently has 28 Olympic qualifications.
