Armenia’s Mkhitaryan becomes gold medalist

Grigor Mkhitaryan (Armenia) won the champion’s title at the European Sambo Championships that wrapped up in Kazan, Russia.

In the final of the 52kg competition in the combat sambo tournament, Mkhitaryan defeated fellow Armenian Artush Asryan (Russia) by a score of 1-0, and became Armenia’s sole gold medalist in this tournament.

Armenia’s Vachik Vardanyan (68kg), on the other hand, won a silver medal.
Armenia placed third with four medals (1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze) in the team standings at the combat sambo tournament.

As reported earlier, Tigran Kirakosyan (Armenia) won a silver medal in the 52kg competition while Armenia’s Mkhitar Mkhitaryan (57kg) and Edik Petrosyan (90kg) became bronze medalists in their respective weight classes.
