The 14th—and final—round will be played Monday at the Candidates Tournament for the 2016 World Chess Championship, which is wrapping up in the Russian capital city of Moscow.

In this round, Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian, who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions Armenia, will face GM Hikaru Nakamura (USA), whom Aronian had defeated in their previous match in this competition.

After 13 rounds, Aronian shares fourth to seventh places, with 6.5 points apiece, and he has lost the chance to win this tournament.

GM Sergey Karjakin (Russia) and Italian GM Fabiano Caruana (USA) are the current leaders, with 7.5 points each, and they are followed by the former World Champion, GM Viswanathan Anand (India), who has tallied 7 points so far.

The winner of the Candidates Tournament, which has about a €420-thousand prize fund, will be the challenger for the 2016 World Chess Championship against the reining champion, GM Magnus Carlsen (Norway), from November 11 to 30, in New York.
