Armenia wins gold in Zagreb

Armenia achieved gold medal in the second—and final—day of the World Youth Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship being held in Zagreb, Croatia.
Gevorg Gharibyan (55kg) defeated Azerbaijan’s Sakit Guliyev in the final and achieved first place in his weight category.

Vaghinak Minasyan (84kg), on the other hand, lost to his Azerbaijani opponent, Fuad Aliyev, in the bronze-medal match in his weight category.

Overall, Armenia’s team came in sixth, following Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, and Germany.
