World champion tested positive

IBO light heavyweight champion American Antonio Tarver has tested positive for a banned substance. 43-year-old boxer had used the substance prior to the fight against Nigerian Lateef Kayode on June 2. The fight ended in a draw.

The results were published on Saturday. The boxer is temporary disqualified, while Tarver claims he will appeal the results, BoxingScene reports.

To note, another two American boxers, including WBA and IBF world champions Lamont Peterson (63 kg) and ex-world champion Andre Berto (66.7 kg) also were tested positive.
