Sharapova decides to help Team Russia
00:10 26 December, 2015Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova will join the Russian women’s tennis team in the 2016 Federation Cup quarterfinals, reported TASS news agency of Russia.
Russia will face the Netherlands in this match.
According to the International Tennis Federation rules, in order to be eligible to participate in the Olympic Games, Sharapova needs to play at least three Federation Cup matches during the four-year cycle.
In 2015, and as part of Team Russia, Maria Sharapova already played against Poland and the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals and the final, respectively.
