Azerbaijan ex-international gets 2-year suspension for hitting referee

Azerbaijani player-coach of FC Virage (Russia) futsal club, Sarhan Mikayilov, has been suspended for two years for hitting a referee. 

The Russian Football Union has reached such a decision, reported TASS news agency of Russia.

Accordingly, Mikayilov has been banned for two years from engaging in football-related activities. 

During the Russian Futsal First League match between FC Kurgan and Virage on October 31, the Azerbaijani futsal player had hit a referee who had recorded a foul by him.

Aside from suspension, Sarhan Mikayilov, who is a former player of the Azerbaijan national football squad, was also fined 50,000 Russian rubles (approx. US$764).
