Youri Djorkaeff at Armenian Genocide Memorial (PHOTOS)
13:50 1 October, 2015YEREVAN. – Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Gabriel Ghazaryan, and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia Hrachya Rostomyan on Thursday received renowned French Armenian ex-footballer Youri Djorkaeff, who has arrived in capital city Yerevan.
Subsequently, the former world and European football champion, along with Ghazaryan and Rostomyan, visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial.
President of the Armenian Athletic Federation Robert Emmiyan, who is also the long jump European record holder, told NEWS.am Sport that Djorkaeff is touched by such a warm reception and treatment in Armenia.
The France national football squad former midfielder is in Armenia to take part in Saturday’s international half marathon in Yerevan.
In Armenia’s capital city, Youri Djorkaeff will also play in a charity football match on Friday.
