European Games: Armenian athlete wins gold in Azerbaijan

Artistic gymnast Seda Tutkhalyan, who was born in Gyumri, Armenia, became team champion—as part of the Russian women’s gymnastics team—at the European Games being held in the Azerbaijan capital city of Baku.

Team Russia passed Germany and the Netherlands to first place.

Seda, 15, is the 2014 Youth Olympic Games All-around champion.

She is the daughter of Gurgen Tutkhalyan, a four-time world champion in Sambo of the ex-Soviet Union.

Seda Tutkhalyan had started artistic gymnastics at the age of seven, in Moscow.
