Bicycle world speed record is broken in the Alps

Frenchman Éric Barone, 54, broke a new world speed record of 223.3 kph on a mountain bike.

The record was broken on a special track in the Alps, and at 2,700 meters above sea level.

The objective of this exploit was to improve on the previous record of 222.22 kph, AFP reported.
