Armenia’s athlete is crowned European champion

YEREVAN. – Honored Master of Sports Yerjanik Avetisian became European skeet shooting champion for a fifth time.

Avetisian scored 96 out of a possible 100 at the European Skeet Shooting Championships, which is held in Larnaca, Cyprus, and as a result she was crowned champion.  

Yerjanik Avetisian, 43, is a three-time world champion and she has won numerous world and European trophies.   

The Armenian athlete was representing Russia ever since 1995, during which she won eleven gold medals. 

But Avetisian returned to Armenia, on the invitation of President Gagik Tsarukyan of the Armenian National Olympic Committee, and celebrated her return with a victory, the Committee’s official website informs.
