World Chess Olympiad: We missed many opportunities – Aronian

10:05   15 August, 2014

I rate our performance average, said Grandmaster Levon Aronian.Aronian—who is second in the World Chess Federation (FIDE) rankings and who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions Armenia—commented on Armenia’s performance at the 41st World Chess Olympiad which wrapped up Thursday in Tromsø, Norway.

“We missed many opportunities. After an unsuccessful confrontation with France, we continued in the same way. We faced strong competitors from the very beginning, and we didn’t have time to get into the game. “The hall was hot; this was one of the biggest problems,” the Tromsø 2014 Chess Olympiad official website quoted Levon Aronian as saying.
