The French and Swiss national football squads have booked their places—from Group E—in the 1/8 finals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. In their third and final group-stage match, les Bleus had a goalless draw with Ecuador while Switzerland beat Honduras by a score of 3-0.

As a result, the French finished the group phase atop Group E with 7 points and they will face Nigeria—the runners-up in Group F—in the playoffs.  The Swiss, who finished second in Group E with 6 points, will enter the pitch against Argentina—the winners with a perfect record in Group F—in the 1/8 finals.

Ecuador and Honduras, on the other hand, have bid farewell to the World Cup with 4 points and no points, respectively.
