2014 World Cup: Suárez brings victory to country

00:51   20 June, 2014

For the first time in their history, the England national football squad have started a World Cup campaign with two consecutive defeats.

In their second group-stage match in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, England have lost to Uruguay by a score of 1-2, and Liverpool F.C. (England) striker Luis Suárez has scored both of Uruguay’s goals. As a result, in Group D, Uruguay have leveled—with 3 points—with both Italy and Costa Rica who, however, have played one game less, and they will face one another on Friday.

England, on the other hand, have not earned any points yet, and therefore they may lose the chance to advance to the World Cup playoffs.
