European Wrestling Championship: Julfalakyan becomes silver medalist (PHOTOS)

London Olympics silver medalist Arsen Julfalakyan (Armenia) on Sunday won a silver medal at the 2014 European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship which is wrapping up in Vantaa, Finland.  

In the final of the 75-kilogram competition, Julfalakyan lost to Alexander Chekhirkin (Russia), by a score of 3-4, and settled for second place.    

Armenia’s Greco-Roman wrestling team ended the event with two medals. On Saturday, Artur Aleksanyan defeated Cenk Ildem (Turkey) in the final, and became the European Champion in the 98-kilogram competition for the third consecutive year.   

Earlier, Armenia’s freestyle wrestling team had finished the tournament with one silver and two bronze medals.
