Armenia national football squad candidate Zaven Badoyan on Friday signed a contract with FC Gomel (Belarus), the club official website reported.

The 24-year-old midfielder’s contract is expected to run until July 1, with a possibility of renewal for one year.

The Armenian player moved to the Belarusian club as a free agent.

As reported earlier, Badoyan had broken off his contract with FC BATE Borisov (Belarus) on mutual agreement.

The midfielder had moved to BATE in 2011, but he could not find himself a permanent spot in the team’s starting eleven.

While at BATE Borisov, Badoyan scored one goal and provided one assist in seventeen games for the club.

Zaven Badoyan has made four appearances for the Armenian national team.
