Sochi 2014: Paralympic Games set to start

The opening ceremony for the 2014 Winter Paralympics, the eleventh Winter Paralympic Games, and also more generally known as the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Games, will take place on Friday in Adler, Russia.

Until March 16, representatives from 45 countries will compete for 72 collections of medals.

The Paralympic athletes will compete in biathlon, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, curling, and ice hockey.

Armenia will have one participant in Sochi, as Mher Avanesyan will represent the country in alpine skiing.
