Arthur Arakelyan close to qualifying to London Olympics

Armenia’s Arthur Arakelyan (60 kg) advanced to the semi-finals of the free wrestling’s final qualification tournament for the 2012 London Olympics held in Finland.

He has to defeat Germany’s Tim Schleicher to qualify for the London Olympics. In quarter-finals Arakelyan defeated Canada’s Manuel Pineda 1-0, 2-0.

Another Armenian wrestler Musa Murtazaliyev (74 kg) lost to Belarus’ Murad Haydarov, while Edgar Yenokyan (96 kg) was left out after the first fight.

Ruslan Basiyev’s fight is scheduled on May 5.
