The World Chess Federation has issued its rankings for February 2014.

Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian—who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the previous World Team Chess champions, Armenia—is still second in the new FIDE rankings.

In addition, Aronian has improved his rating by 14 points, as compared to the January rankings.

2013 World Chess Champion, GM Magnus Carlsen (Norway), continues to top the list, and GM Vladimir Kramnik (Russia) is still ranked third.

The Armenian national chess team has three more representatives in the world top 100 rankings. They are GMs Vladimir Akopian (62nd), Sergei Movsesian (71st), and Gabriel Sargissian (77th).

Aronian will face Carlsen on Friday’s second-round classic match of the chess super tournament being held in Zurich, Switzerland.
