Yaya Toure injures ankle

13:52   9 January, 2014

Manchester City’s Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure suffered an ankle injury.

Toure sustained the injury during his club’s Capital One Cup semifinal first-leg match against West Ham, Goal.com reports.

As a result, the 30-year-old could not continue in the second half of the game, and therefore he was subbed off.

The Ivorian will have tests on the swollen ankle on Thursday. The City medical staff treat this as a precautionary measure.

In the current season, Yaya Toure has scored ten goals in nineteen appearances so far for Manchester City.
