Armenian wrestlers not qualify for London Olympics
18:32 28 April, 2012Armenian wrestlers have not qualified for the London Olympic Games during the tournament held in China.
Armenia’s Ruslan Basiev (120 kg) lost to South Korean Kyung-jin Nam in the semi-finals of the Freestyle Wrestling tournament, whereas Robert Kirakosyan (55 kg) lost to Korea’s representative in Greco-Roman Wrestling competitions.
Kirakosyan was also defeated by German Ceyhun Zaidov in a bout for the bronze.
Arthur Mkrtchyan (60 kg) lost to Georgian Revaz Lashkhi. Aram Julfalakyan (66 kg) was defeated by Hungary’s Tamas Lorincz in semi-finals and later Ukraine’s Armen Vardanyan for the bronze.
Tigran Sahakyan (84 kg) was defeated in semi-finals and lost to French Melanin Noumonvi for bronze.
