Armenia’s Ter-Sahakyan triumphs in India

YEREVAN. – Armenian Grandmaster (GM) Samvel Ter-Sahakyan garnered a total of 7.5 points, out of possible 10 points, and took the first prize at the chess open that was held in Kolkata, India. Achieving victory, Ter-Sahakyan left behind 95 chess players, including 23 GMs.

Even though four other chess players, including Armenian FIDE Master Tigran S. Petrosian, had the same results as Ter-Sahakyan, they all remained behind the winner on tie-break, Armchess reports.
