Warsaw: Armenia vs. Hungary

Sixth-round matches will be played Thursday in the men’s competition at the European Team Chess Championship, which is held in the Polish capital city Warsaw. 

In Round 6, three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the World Team Chess champions Armenia—comprising Grandmasters Levon Aronian, Sergei Movsesian, Vladimir Akopian, Gabriel Sargissian, and Tigran Petrosian—will face Hungary.

After Round 5, Armenia and Hungary have 7 points, apiece, and France are the leaders, with 9 points.

To note, 38 teams are competing in the men’s tournament.

In the women’s competition, Armenia will play against Spain.

After five rounds, both teams have 7 points, each, and the current leaders are Ukraine, with 10 points.
