Europa League: Karlen Mkrtchyan brings victory to Russian club

Owing to the only goal scored by Armenian national football squad midfielder Karlen Mkrtchyan, FC Anzhi Makhachkala (Russia) defeated Tromsø IL (Norway) in a Europa League away game.   

The 24-year-old Armenian international stood out in the extra time.

Separately, FC Shakhter Karagandy (Kazakhstan) was hosted by AZ Alkmaar (Holland) but lost to the home team by a score of 1-0.  Armenian national squad and Shakhter midfielder Gevorg Ghazaryan, however, played the entire game.
