Olympic torch flares up in Santa Claus’ hands

Another incident occurred during the torch relay of the 2014 Winter Olympics, which will be held in Sochi, Russia, Desporter reports.  

In Vologda, Russia, the fire of the Olympic torch suddenly flared up in the hands of Santa Claus.

But the assistants picked up the torch and adjusted it in timely fashion.

To note, on October 6—that is, on the first day of the torch relay being conducted in Russia—the torch went out in the hands of Armenian athlete Shavarsh Karapetyan, who is 17-time World Champion in swimming.    

The 65,000-kilometer-long torch relay will last 123 days and pass through 130 cities in Russia. A total of 14,000 torchbearers and close to 30,000 volunteers will take part in this event.
