Garry Kasparov announces candidacy for FIDE presidency

Garry Kasparov has announced his candidacy for presidency of the International Chess Federation, he wrote on Twitter.

“Wow, thank you for all the good wishes for my FIDE campaign. It is an amazing response! A lot of work to do, trips to take, ideas to hear,” he wrote.

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov has been the president of FIDE since 1995 and is going to run for presidency again.
