Armenian boxer fails to advance to Trabzon quarter-finals

Armenian boxer Hovhannes Danielyan failed to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2012 London Olympics qualification tournament held in Trabzon, Turkey.

He was defeated by Turkey’s Selcuk Eker 9-23.

Armenia is represented by seven boxers in different categories. Earlier, three of them - Vladimir Sarukhanyan (60 kg), Hrayr Matevosyan (69 kg) and Ara Puluzyan (64 kg) - gained victories, while Arrtur Khachatryan (81 kg) and Aram Avagyan (56 kg) lost their bouts.

Armenia’s Koryun Soghomonyan (49 kg) will start on Wednesday.
