Karen Asrian Memorial: Hovhannisyan wins

The Karen Asrian Memorial chess tournament wrapped up in Jermuk, Armenia, on Monday, Armchess reports.

As a result, GM Robert Hovhannisyan (Armenia), who tallied 7.5 points after nine rounds, was declared the winner of the tournament.  Samvel Ter-Sahakyan and Hovhannes Gabuzyan came in second and third, respectively, with 6.5 points, apiece.

Armenia’s representatives Vahe Baghdasaryan, Robert Aghasaryan, Zaven Andriasian, Hrant Melkumyan, and Levon Babujian, on the other hand, garnered 6 points, each, and came in fifth to ninth, correspondingly.
