Arthur Abraham could retire

Former WBO Super Middleweight Champion Arthur Abraham (36-4, 21KOs) is threatening not to fight on August 24 against Wilberforce Shihepo (20-6, 15KOs) of Namibia.

The Armenian boxer is unhappy with the purse being offered by his promoter, Sauerland Event. “If Sauerland Event does not reach an agreement with my lawyer, I will not box...either on August 24 or later on. I do not need to continue my boxing career, and I can finish it right now. Athletes should be treated fairly,” Boxingscene quotes Abraham as saying.

As NEWS.am Sport informed earlier, the last time when Arthur Abraham had entered the boxing ring was on March 23 when the Armenian boxer was stopped in four rounds by Robert Stieglitz (44-3, 25KOs), as Abraham’s eye was swollen shut and the doctors would not allow him to continue.
