Armenia’s Melkumyan and Petrosian to face one another

ALBENA. – Armenia’s GMs Hrant Melkumyan and Tigran Petrosian continue to be among the current leaders at the Grand Europe chess open that is held in Albena, Bulgaria.

They garnered 5.5 points, each, after six rounds and, as a result, they share 1st-3rd place in the current standings. The Armenian chess masters will play against each other in Round 7.  

Armenian GMs Krikor Sevag Mekhitarian and Avetik Grigoryan, and young chess player David Paravyan have tallied 4.5 points, apiece, so far. Mekhitarian will face Paravyan in the seventh round.

The Round 7 matches will be played on Friday, the tournament’s website informs.
