Armenia’s aykikendo karate fighters surpass teams from Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia

YEREVAN. – The fighters representing the Aykikendo Full Contact Karate Federation of Armenia returned home with a victory from the 7th Caucasus Open Championship of Combat Taekwondo and Contact Fighting, which was held in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, on April 20 and 21.  

Representatives from Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan competed at the event.    

In the team competition, Armenia’s representatives captured first place and won a total of nineteen medals (5 gold, 4 silver, 10 bronze).  

To note, this is the Armenian national squad’s second consecutive triumph in Tbilisi where, during the previous tournament, the Armenian athletes were declared absolute winners as they had captured a total of eighteen medals (6 gold, 6 silver, 6 bronze).
