Armenian national team hopeful scores goal in Uzbek football league

YEREVAN. – The new Uzbekistan Professional Football League season has kicked off. In the first round, FC Pakhtakor Tashkent played host to FK Neftchi Farg’ona and defeated the latter by a score of 2-0. 

Armenian youth national team member, senior national squad hopeful, capital city Yerevan’s FC Pyunik, and Greece’s Olympiacos F.C. former midfielder Zhora Hovhannisyan was in the starting lineup for Pakhtakor, and he netted the home team’s second goal in the 37th minute into the game.

This was Hovhannisyan’s first official goal as part of the Tashkent club, and he also was involved in FC Pakhtakor’s first goal.

Zhora Hovhannisyan was substituted in the 69th minute of the match.
