Armenia wins two medals in Kazakhstan

World Championship of Sambo for “Awards of Kazakh President Norsultan Nazarbayev” in sport and combat sambo among men and women was held on January 26-28 in the city of Uralsk.

Armenia was represented by six athletes. Two of them will return home with bronze medals - Mavrik Nasibyan (82 kg) and David Grigoryan (90 kg). Both athletes are pupils of Stepanavan Junior School Sambo and Judo, Sambo Federation of Armenia reports.

Since the athletes won medals on January 28 - the day of the Armenian army, Sambo Federation decided to dedicate this victory to all soldiers.

In addition, the Russian team representative Gayane Harutyunyan (48 kg) won gold.
