Armenian national boxing team will head to Turkey

YEREVAN. – Armenia’s national boxing team will travel to Trabzon, Turkey, on April 13, where the final ranking tournament prior to the London Olympics will be held. 

Four Olympic qualifications will be up for grabs in the Trabzon tournament’s 49- and 60-kilogram categories. And solely the finalists will qualify for the Olympic Games.  

The names of Armenia’s 64 kilogram and super heavyweight Olympic hopefuls, who will head to Trabzon, will be announced later. 

Only Andranik Hakobyan (75 kg) has so far qualified for the 2012 London Olympics, the National Olympic Committee of Armenia Press Secretariat informs.    

The Trabzon tournament will come to a close on April 22.
