Armenian swimmers aspire for Olympic participation

YEREVAN. – The International Swimming Federation (FINA) will submit to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) the list of 75 swimmers who participated in the 14th FINA World Championships, which were held in Shanghai in 2011, in terms of carte blanche entries into the London Olympics. 

And Mikayel Koloyan and Monica Vasilyan, who represent Armenia, also took part in Shanghai 2011. To note, the national federations of 151 countries have already applied to FINA for a carte blanche eligibility.  

Armenia’s national swimming team, under the leadership of head coach Igor Safaryan, is holding two daily training sessions in the capital Yerevan. In May, Armenian swimmers, together with the Russian national team, will take part in a joint meet in Tsaghkadzor city, the National Olympic Committee of Armenia (ARMNOC) official website informs.
