Carlos Augusto: Mkhitaryan provided a wonderful assist
12:07 22 October, 2026Inter Milan midfielder Carlos Augusto commented on the victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the third round of the Champions League league phase. The Italian side won 1–0 despite being down to ten men, with Augusto scoring from an assist by former Armenian national team midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
«This was a very important goal. Mkhitaryan provided a wonderful assist, but Zieliński also did very well to start the move. I need to congratulate all my teammates. It’s never easy when you’re down to 10 men.
We showed we wanted to win this game. We weren’t scared, but every Champions League game is like this. They have quality, and it’s difficult to have control all the time," the Brazilian footballer is quoted as saying by the official UEFA website.
Inter’s next Champions League match will take place on November 3, away against the Dutch side Feyenoord.
